A look back: Capital City Cornhole Classic will celebrate 5th Birthday in 2021

Shangri-La's Capital City Cornhole Classic has become a favorite among regional players -- many who have played in the tournament each year since it's inception. Austin Case from Molalla is one of the players who has literally grown up with the Capital City Cornhole Classic. Below are photos of him at the tournament from 2016-2019 (left to right).

Started in 2016 as a collaboration between Shangri-La and Salem Ale Works, the tournament's humble beginnings set the foundation for a tournament that is set to host over 200 players this year.

Played on the lawn of the Oregon State Capitol, the event features food trucks, craft beer, and the cornhole challenge course where players put their cornhole skills to the test by throwing with their opposite hand, throwing blindfolded, and trying their luck on a tiny board with bags no bigger than a quarter.

Registration is now open for the 2021 tournament online at: www.shangrilaoregon.org/capitalcitycornholeclassic
