Endowment Fund
Shangri-La’s Endowment Fund is a way for donors to make a significant investment in the future of Shangri-La. Monitored by the Shangri-La’s Board of Directors, these funds are conservatively invested and managed for moderate growth with the intent that a portion of the gain can provide financial assistance to Shangri-La to carry out its mission.

A bequest is a gift from your estate – a transfer of cash, securities, or other property made through your estate plans. Your can make a bequest to Shangri-La by including language in your will or living trust that will leave a portion of your estate to Shangri-La. You can also make a bequest by designating Shangri-La as a beneficiary of your retirement account or life insurance policy.

  • Some of the advantages of creating a bequest include:
    • A bequest costs nothing now, yet gives you the satisfaction of knowing you have provided for Shangri-La in the future.
    • You retain control of and use your assets during your lifetime.
    • You may modify your bequest if your circumstances change.
    • Gifts from your estate are exempt from federal estate taxes.
